Quality Manager (SQE Equality and Quality Team)
We are looking for a Quality Manager to join our SQE Equality and Quality Team
This is a challenging and varied role which offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the team responsible for delivering a major new licensing examination. The Equality and Quality Team are responsible for key areas of governance for the SQE - mitigating circumstances claims; appeals; complaints; and improper conduct and malpractice.

Essential
Qualification and practice experience as a solicitor in England and Wales
Skills and experience to lead, manage and develop a team in regulatory practice, or in academic or professional assessment governance
Experience of managing and meeting key service level agreement targets
Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal, including the ability to draft clear, succinct and relevant correspondence, reports and policy documents
Strong administrative skills including organisational, time and document management skills and attention to detail
Experience of working in a professional environment with a variety of stakeholders
Desirable
Experience of applying assessment regulations and associated policies in a professional assessment and/or HE environment
Experience in regulatory or dispute resolution work in practice as a solicitor
Experience of EDI issues in a professional legal assessment environment
Experience of mitigating (or extenuating) circumstances claims and appeals within a professional assessment and/or HE environment

Kaplan is a provider of world-leading professional assessments. In 2018, we were appointed as the independent assessment organisation for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), which we then launched in 2021. This exam is now the sole route to qualifying as a Solicitor of England and Wales and will ultimately be taken by upwards of 13,000 candidates per year.
