We are looking for a Head of Market Intelligence to join our team.
Role summary
The Head of Market Intelligence is responsible for the market, customer, competitor, and policy insights that define Kaplan Assessments’ target landscape. This role directs commercial decision-making by providing the evidentiary basis and strategic recommendations necessary to prioritise sectors, client groups, and accounts, ensuring commercial resources are deployed with maximum impact. Working in close alignment with the Commercial Director, Client Solutions Director, and regional Heads of Commercial Growth, you will identify and rank priority markets and emerging prospects. Your analysis will provide evidence for the focus of commercial efforts, inform opportunity qualification, and shape the positioning of Kaplan’s specialist capabilities.
You will synthesize complex market data into actionable, timely intelligence, encompassing opportunity sizing, customer needs analysis, pricing benchmarks, and regulatory monitoring. Additionally, you will provide account-specific insights and facilitate structured learning from commercial outcomes and bid results. This position is accountable for the commercial utility and rigour of provided intelligence, demonstrating its contribution to refined lead qualification and improved market-entry strategies. Ultimately, the role supports the development of a diversified, resilient, and scalable business model.

Holding a commercial-insight or competitive-intelligence position focused on B2B or B2G revenue generation.
Serving in a commercial strategy or consulting role responsible for converting complex evidence into business recommendations.
Leading analysis within the education, assessment, professional services, or another highly regulated market.
Supporting go-to-market decisions, account prioritisation, or portfolio planning across multiple products or geographies.
Transitioning from a research or policy specialist background into a commercially focused intelligence function.

What you’ll bring to the role
Essential
Substantial experience in market analysis, commercial strategy, or competitive intelligence within a B2B or B2G environment.
Knowledge of the assessment, education, or professional regulation landscape, or experience in a similar professional-services sector.
Proven ability to transform incomplete evidence into clear, decision-ready recommendations that influence market-entry and positioning.
Strong analytical skill in market segmentation, sizing, competitor assessment, and the evaluation of market attractiveness.
Expertise in monitoring emerging prospects through policy, regulatory, and customer signals to inform commercial prioritisation.
Practical experience developing account and stakeholder intelligence in collaboration with client-facing colleagues.
Skill in conducting structured win/loss reviews and translating competitive findings into actionable recommendations.
Sufficient authority to work with senior commercial stakeholders and communicate the implications of available market evidence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce concise dashboards and briefs.
Experience managing competing priorities across multiple customer groups, geographies, or service offerings.
Strong commitment to data quality, source integrity, and the ethical use of commercial intelligence.
The ability to operate autonomously while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix structure.
