Freelance SQE2 Assessment Marker
We are looking for experienced qualified solicitors to mark the SQE2 written assessments and/or attendance note/legal analysis.

As an SQE2 Assessment Marker you will have subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Business organisations, rules and procedures (including money laundering and financial services)
• Wills and Intestacy, Probate Administration and Practice
• Property Practice
• Dispute Resolution
• Criminal Litigation
Your role will be to assess the candidates’ skills and application of law against the relevant assessment criteria.
This role is homebased, and you will attend virtual marking standardisation meetings and mark the written assessments and/or attendance note online, using our online marking platform.
Full marking training will be given to new markers.

Please note that selection process will include attendance at an online SQE2 Examiner’s recruitment event. This event includes a slide presentation on SQE2 assessment methodology and criteria, and a marking exercise set in the context of either a Criminal Litigation or Dispute Resolution advocacy SQE2 skills assessment. The recruitment event is not remunerated, however, if your application for the role is successful, you will be paid for the marking that you do.

What we do
Kaplan is a provider of world-leading professional assessments. In 2018, we were appointed as the independent assessment organisation for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), which we then launched in 2021. This exam is now the sole route to qualifying as a Solicitor of England and Wales and will ultimately be taken by upwards of 13,000 candidates per year.
